Our Verdict
We've been won over by the quality of this pack. First things first, the Aeroflex is a harness sytem that uses a lightweight steel frame to lift the rucksack off the back creating space for air to flow between the sack and the body. It also has an adjustable strap length by means of a substantial velcro fastening behind the mesh back panel.
The rucksack itself has all the seams taped so they are completely waterproof, the material itself is a lightweight flexible PU coated fabric that is completely waterproof also. All the fixings etc are welded into place on the rucksack, the finish is excellent.
Vaude explain that the weight of the rucksack is reduced because there are no overlapping sewn seams, so the saving is in excess material and no thread.
The result is an excellent piece of kit weighing in at 1045g, but you can save 75g on a pack cover and that again on a pack liner. The Aracanda desrves serious consideration.

Aeroflex Harness
Aeroflex ensures optimum 3-way ventilation for your back. The space between mesh and packsack allows air to circulate freely, ventilating the back efficiently.
A lightweight steel frame ensuresthat this ventilation remains effective even when the pack is fully loaded.
F.L.A.S.H. Shoulder Strap Adjustment
With the F.L.A.S.H. system you can fully adjust the length of your pack shoulder straps quickly and easily. An easy access velcro closure at the back lets you regulate your ideal strap length.
F.L.A.S.H. is used in conjunction with the Aeroflx suspension system.
