The Women's Microlight Vest is a fantastic option for anyone wanting extra mid layer warmth at minimum weight and packsize.

The streamlined women's specific shape offers a great fit with no excess fabric - perfect as a mid layer for hill, mountain or ski use - ideal with a waterproof or windproof outer layer.

Our Verdict

Fanatically light, the Microlite has narrow down compartments to keep the filling in place. This is a down jacket that folds into its own pocket! Lightly elasticated cuffs and handwarmer pockets, the cut is slightly lowered at the back. Internally the lining is a grey contrast.

We packed a large one into its pocket and its an odd shaped package about 18 x 18 x 10cm - in fact an ideal pillow. Most of us think down gear for Winter use - but with these ultralight versions the same advantages of insulation per gram and packability still hold true for a late evening / high level summer garment.

Updated for Autumn 2011 with zips fitted to the pockets.
