THE MICROLIGHT ALPINE JACKET IS AN ALPINISTS DREAM

The Microlight Alpine Jacket is a lightweight, narrow baffled down jacket with a weather resistant Pertex outer fabric.

Providing 140g/5oz (size large) of US750 fill European goose down, all wrapped up in a streamlined package that provides maximum warmth for minimal weight. The clean lines and uncluttered, minimalist design make it ideal as a layering piece for climbing or for mountain marathons - but this adaptable piece is equally at home for day to day use or for lightweight back-packing.

The narrow baffle structure minimises down migration and provides optimum loft and a fixed hood makes this jacket the perfect choice when warmth, weight and packability are prime concerns.

After listening to feedback from sponsored athletes and customers we have decided to add zips to the hand warmer and chest pockets.

Our Verdict

Fanatically light, the hooded version of the Microlite has narrow down compartments to keep the filling in place. This is a down jacket that folds into its own pocket! Lightly elasticated cuffs and new zipped handwarmer pockets, the cut is slightly lowered at the back. Upgraded in Autumn/Winter 2011 with added zips to the handwarmer pockets and  with striking contrasting colours for the lining they now look awesome.

Most of us think down gear for Winter use - but with these ultralight versions the same advantages of insulation per gram and packability still hold true for a late evening / high level summer garment.
