Our Verdict

Ankle gaiters make a lot of sense for walkers and trekkers, this is all most trails will require and when you don't need to wear them their carry weight is low. The Boreas have the advantages of front opening, a stretch fit and a comfortable softshell fabric.

Teklite is a wind resistant and highly breathable, DWR treated, quick drying fabric, so its not water PROOF but it is highly water RESISTANT and is getting good press where its used in other RAB & Outdoor Designs products. These gaiters are therefore ideal for when you want to wear gaiters all day and still feel comfortable, they'll provide protection in everything but extended torrential downpours.
