Down provides the best insulation for warmth to weight. The Finch Vest is a technical approach to down using high spec 93/7 800 fill power (EU)(Oeko-Tex 100 standard) goose down and very light Pertex Quantum to create a Vest with superb weight to warmth.
Our Verdict
A high fill power and just 72g of down in this vest make it one of the lightest available (without straying into Down Shirt territory), yet it still feels bulky and a substantial garment. Nice features like the zippered handwarmer pockets, high collar and the main zip backed by an internal flap.
The rating of 800+ fill power of the down is by the EU method, which denotes a lower fill power for the equivalent quality of down if they were to use the US method - so this is very high quality.
Colourwise its called 'Black' but its not Black in the flesh, nor is it Black in the photo - more a neutral Grey colour with a hint of Brown/Green!
