Meta 1P™ is a striking example of the efficiency and weight savings of a well designed trekking pole tent. In order to save you precious ounces, a single trekking pole provides support to the tent in lieu of standard tent poles or airbeams. With well placed anchor points, setup of Meta 1P™ is quick, with none of the pole slippage and tensioning issues that plague other trekking pole tents.
Multiple venting options and vestibule configurations keep the rain out and the air circulating. Despite its paltry weight, Meta 1P™ upholds the NEMO standard for comfort and usability with two integral vents, a mesh pocket, and the highest quality fabrics and hardware. Our Verdict
Superb single skin backpacking tent which ticks all the boxes, spacious, venting options, large vestibule, storm guy points at a very low weight given the size of the living space. In order to pitch it taught you need a trekking pole of 135cm or more - it will pitch with a lower one but the sides droop a bit.

- Easy set-up - Smart design and straight forward functionality make the setup of Meta 1P a cinch. Simply stake out each of Meta 1P's anchor points and insert and expand your trekking pole until the tent is properly tensioned. An oversize grommet locates the tip of your trekking pole and a reinforced area at the top of the tent receives the pole handle. A total of seven anchor points keep Meta 1P nailed to the ground, vented, and ready to face all conditions.
- Venting - A combination of venting options in Meta 1P help combat condensation and promote good air circulation. A large rear vent can be deployed by staking out the reflective guy-out cord at the back of the tent. A reinforced hoop keeps the upper vent open at all times, allowing low to high ventilation. The upper vent construction is fully seam taped and stays waterproof in all weather. Further venting options are available by varying the vestibule opening. Even when the vestibule is fully closed, strategic catenary cuts allow air movement under the vestibule and into the tent.
- Vestibule Options - Meta 1P's vestibule options give you all-weather versatility. When the skies are clear, both vestibule doors can be rolled back to expose the full mesh wall. When rain isn't a concern, but you need protection from the wind, keep one side of the vestibule rolled up and the other side deployed. In rainy weather, deploy both sides for full protection from the elements.
- 20D Fabric - NEMO's ultralight 20D fabric was made for adventures where every ounce matters. Engineered to yield the perfect balance of tear strength, waterproofness, abrasion-resistance, and weight, this 20D high tenacity PU-coated nylon ripstop is one of the most advanced textiles in the market.
- Watertight Compression Sack - Many of the NEMO tents include watertight dry bags, including the Meta 1P. Having your tent in a watertight stuff sack means it won't take on water weight if its in your backpack while you're hiking in the rain, or if it's in your kayak when you roll your boat. Alternatively, if you have to pack your tent wet, it will help keep the rest of the gear in your pack dry.
