Closed cell foam is a fantastically light material, it cushions, is waterproof and provides a high level of insulation from the ground.
The other extremely flexible property of closed cell foam is that it can be cut to any size or shape easily with a knife or large pair of scissors.
The ultralight option would be to buy one and cut it in half, its still big enough to sit on and you can make a gift of the other half to your wife or girlfriend (I'm sure she'll be delighted).
