MSR Mutha Hubba
Our best-selling freestanding 3-person tent has all the same features of our best-selling Hubba Hubba™ tent, and delivers maximum livability for three. It’s the ideal tent for a minimalist trio backpacking deep into the Sierra’s in the heat of summer or tackling the Appalachian Trail for an extended trip in the spring.
Our Verdict
A high quality 3 person tent with excellent headroom. We like the hubba range of tents because although they may be considered on the heavy side in their full form they have the lightweight option of flysheet plus footprint, which in this case brings the weight down to 2356g, thats a lot of comfort for only 800g each person.
The 'hub' system maximises stability for minimum weight, the centre pole enters two hubs, one at each side of the tent, two further pole sections radiate out from here, crossing the outer poles to make the whole structure very rigid (see inner tent photo).
