Another new idea from Lowe Alpine, the Illusion Pack will hold 60m of 10mm rope. Designed to protect your rope as well as enable it to be carried to the crag.
It can also be used as a super lightweight pack and for abseiling in difficult conditions where you do not want the rope flying about in the wind. Folds into its own pocket.
Our Verdict
The Illusion pack was designed to carry ropes - but its an ideal small pack for just about any activity. It really packs the features for a pack of this weight, first its made from tough materials, it has a semicircular closure round the top with a water resistant zip, simple shoulder straps and a mesh hip belt for stability.
In addition to these basic features it has grab handle and a short daisy chain for securing items outside your pack, an open pocket on the back panel which would take a stiffener, an organiser pocket inside and further side attachment webbing loops.
If you can squeeze your kit into 16 litres then the Illusion pack could be a great choice to carry it all.
