| Lightwave t2 ultra, 2 Skin, 2-3 Person Tent |
 |
The t2 ultra is an exceptionally spacious and lightweight two-person tunnel tent that is ideal for long backpacking trips. In fact, it is roomy enough for three people who want to travel as light as possible, with a shared weight of only 0.75 kg each.
To achieve its low packed weight, it uses the strongest and most durable ultralight fabrics available, making it a reliable shelter in remote areas.
It is a four-season tent suitable for most climates and regions, although in extreme conditions secure pitching and anchoring are obviously imperative. The porch area is generous, but those wanting more storage or cooking space can choose the extended vestibule version – the t2 ultra xt
Our Verdict

Comparing the dimensions of Lightwave tents with others demonstrates their generally larger size - 110cm internal headheight in the t2 ultra tent is a good example. The t2 trek has the same dimensions and features as the t2 ultra.
t2 ultra or t2 trek? - the ultra is a higher specification, its not just about lighter fabrics - the ultra has a higher specification hydrostatic head on the groundsheet as an example - purists will want the benefits of the ultra model but others may feel that the extra performance doesn't justify the extra cost. Make no mistake the trek is not a compromise its just the ultra pushes the boundaries a bit further.
