The g30 trek xt is a large three-person, three-pole semi-geodesic tent with an extended vestibule. Its combination of stability, space and ability to withstand the elements makes it a popular choice for long camping trips.
The penalty for its internal volume and geodesic shape is its weight - at 3.35 kg, it is our heaviest tent - but even this is still manageable in a good load-carrying rucksack. Its large vestibule has plenty of space for two bicycles (laid down, with front wheel removed) and for safe cooking inside during bad weather.
Our Verdict
Nearly 7lbs is a lot even when divided by three people but what you get from Lightwave tents is a tent with plenty of space and a true 4 season rating evidenced by the hydrostatic head rating of the fabrics and the way the inner and fly work together to keep the whole tent stable. Buy this tent if you require this level of protection.
