The Carbon 4 poles feature the ultralight Aergon handle. The thermo Aergon handle is the lightest handle in the Leki range, its warm to touch and comfortable to hold. The XL means extra long grip, as you can see the grip extends down the shaft, offering a more effective and comfortable grip over a wide range of trekking and mountaineering situations.
The positive angle grip of the Aergon positions the hand at an ergonomically correct angle for comfort. The durable tungsten carbid tip optimises surface grip on all surfaces.

One pole or two?
Generally speaking, if you're traveling easy terrain with no load, one pole may be sufficient. If, however, you're traveling varied terrain or carrying a load, you'll want the support and stability that two poles will provide you.
