Our Verdict
We like the Monarch series because they have a high output for their diminuitive size - the 500 is the most powerful in the range - 100 lumens from a torch weighing just 100g is pretty impressive.
There is a penalty for this performance and thats battery life - only an hour - which makes these torches great for short time usage where a lot of light is required and not so good as your reading light on a week long trek in winter!
