Katadyn Micropur Forte water treatment tablets, 100 pack
The World Health Organisation (WHO) attributes 80% of all travel diseases to drinking water. It is advisable to always use Micropur as a precaution.
Micropur can be used by itself with clear water, or in combination with a Katadyn filter in turbid water. Micropur Forte eliminates bacteria and viruses, which can occur in hotel tap water and public fountains. Reaction time: 30 minutes.
How and when Micropur Forte is used:
Contaminated water is the most frequest cause of travel sickness. Infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid fever, giardiasis, amebiasis etc..), of the liver (hepatitis A) etc.. are transmitted by microorganisms. These are present anywhere - even in apparently clean, clear and odourless water! Micropur Forte contains a combination of stabilised chlorine and silver ions. In the right concentration chlorine will eliminate quickly and efficiently bacteria, viruses and certain protozoa. At the same time the silver ions will protect the water from recontamination for 6 months.
Limitations: Use only in clear water. Turbid water needs to be filtered first with a portable filter system.
Use: Add one tablet of Micropur Forte to 1 litre of water, leave for 30 minutes before consumption. The effectiveness of Micropur Forte is dependent on water quality and temperature. In cold water (<10C) and to kill protozoa like Giardia increase contact time to 2 hours.
