The Siltarp2 is an 8 ft x 10 ft rectangular tarp made from ultralight waterproof nylon.
The 30 denier parachute ripstop nylon with silicon impregnation weighs only 1.35 oz per sq yard. It is incredibly strong and resilient. The Siltarp2 is designed for groups of 2 - 3 people looking for a lightweight tent awning, wind shelter or gear storage shelter. It offers 80sq ft.(7.5sq m) of coverage and at 14oz.(400g) is light enough to take on all trips.
The Siltarp2 has a seam down the center of the 10 ft length, which provides extra strength but does require manual sealing (Silnet seam sealant provided). There is 1 lightweight nylon tie loop sewn to a reinforced center patch and there are 16 lightweight nylon webbing loops sewn to the corners and at 2 ft intervals along the edges. These loops facilitate a variety of set ups on trekking poles, off trees or onto tents.
