| Gallery of Photographs from the third and fourth sections of the Pyrenean High route - from Gavarnie to L'Hospitalet-Pres-L'Andorre. |

| Day 1 out from Gavarnie - looking back at the refuge des Espuguettes, the Cirque du Gavarnie is on the left with the Breche de Roland (the gap) just visible. |

| Weather was good for the first couple of days - if you look carefully you can just see the path from right to left beyond the rock wall. |

| The Barroude Wall - stopped early because it was a spectacular place to camp! |

| Couple of wet days during section 3, this approach to Lac de Caillauas, in this case I was close to walking up above the clouds. Reminded me of a Scottish loch. |

| Section three passes through some of the highest terrain - certainly the most snowbound. Met a customer here who took this photo on the Col des Gourgs-Blancs. |

| A superb environment, I was lucky to have decent weather, a mixture of windows of clear skies interspresed with low level cloud. |

| That lake's a lot further than it looks (Lac Glace du Port d'Oo). |

| Finally Refuge Portillon, just this side of the dam. |

| This was the largest section of snow to be traversed, however the texture was soft enough to allow easy edging and did not pose a problem. |

| A short lower level respite, heading for the twin peaks of Pico Forcanada. |

| Managed to get lost on this day - with poor visibility I struggled to find the route to the col, around lunchtime the weather cleared - I got my bearings, and after a difficult descent off the col itself I took the above photo of the Mulleres lakes - it was worth it! |

| Further down the valley on the route to Hospital de Vielha, you can see the route ahead on the left hand side. |

| Approaching the next col! |

| Lakes are a feature of the Haute Route - this is Estany de Rius. |

| Estany de Mar - some lakes get all the looks! |

| |

| This is a house in Alos de Isil - I had a nightmare getting here from Salardu! The guide says 10 hours, it took me 14 and I did it over 2 days. The reprint of the guide has divided this day into two, co-incidentally the sugested overnight is where I camped, Refugi Gracia Airoto. |

| Making the approach to Refugi Enric Pujol |

| |

| The weather for Section 4 was very mixed, most days featured low cloud and poor visibility at some point! |

| I only stayed in one Refuge (enforced), but I ate in a few - this is Certascan, had Cannelloni for breakfast - not traditional breakfast fare but it hit the spot. |

| In Section 4 most of the Refuges are unmanned cabins like this one - an orange tin box - sleeps 9! I camped just by the lake's finger. |

| I eschewed the refuge and camped by the lake, by morning the tent was stiff with ice - this early morning view was reward enough. |

| |

| Approaching Andorra. If you asked me to sum up 2-3 days in Andorra in one word - it would be 'misty'. |

| The mist rolled over the mountains from France, Port de Rat is in the middle of the white stuff. |

| |

| Where am I again? |

| The last day was by no means an easy day. |

| The last long valley to negotiate - in the distance (still out of sight) is L'Hospitalet Pres L'Andorre. |
