Granite Gear Vapor Trail
Granite Gears Award winning Vapor Suspension is light, relatively simple and very effective for carrying moderate loads of up to 30lbs. Because of the way the sculpted shoulder strap and belt tie in to the polyethylene frame this system does an excellent job of automatically contouring the dual density foam back panel to your back.
Best of all this is accomplished without the use or the extra weight of an aluminium stay.
The Vapor suspension system is the backbone of a range of packs for various uses, packs with the Vapor suspension have fixed shoulder straps and interchangeable belts. (A standard belt is supplied that suits most users, if an alternative is required this can be ordered through us).
The Vapor Trail uses a high-density polyethylene frame that helps distribute the load evenly over your back and onto your hips. This pack has fixed shoulder straps that are well padded and it comes standard with the Ultralight Packer hip belt. The pack is fully hydration compatible with an internal sleeve and port. Reports from our AT thru-hiker pack testers suggest that by the end of last season roughly 40% of AT thru-hikers were carrying the Vapor Trail, largely due to its exceptional comfort.
Our Verdict
Granite Gear packs should be on your list for consideration if you are more interested in comfort than absolute weight reduction - if thats you then your perfect carry awaits!

What torso length should I get?To find your torso length, measure the distance between your seventh cervical vertebra and the shelf of your hipbones. Do this by standing up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart. Tilt your head forward and place your hands on your hips, thumbs to the back. With a flexible tape, have someone measure from the most prominent vertebra at the base of your neck to an imaginary line drawn between your thumbs. This will be your torso length.
Vapor Torso Lengths Regular Torso 18” to 21” Long Torso 21” to 25
NOTE: Vapor suspension packs do not have adjustable torso lengths on the pack body
