Our Verdict
Stuffed with 650 Fill Power down this isn't going to have the ultimate warmth to weight ratio but its not bad at all - 650 Fill Power is only slightly behind the absolute best and is used in a whole range of high quality garments.
The Beartooth is one such garment, the face fabric has a DWR coating so it will repel water droplets keeping the down dry in damp conditions. All the three external pockets are lined with micro fleece so they feel toasty and there's also a small internal pocket that will take money & credit cards - or perhaps a lift pass.
The inside collar is lined with micro fleece and there is a single hand adjustable hem. As if that wasn't enough its made substantially from recycled material so by choosing this garment you are minimising your call on scarce resources.
Weighing in at less than 12oz the Beartooth is a well made piece of kit that will out-insulate fleeces twice its weight.

We use premium 800+ and 650+ fill power goose down in different products depending on the design and end-use. Down is still the most thermally efficient insulation available, providing more warmth for its weight than any other insulation available. Down is also superior in its drape, comfort, lifespan, and compressibility. All of our down is renewably managed using a hypoallergenic processing technique.
800 Fill Power
800+ fill power down is more compressible and provides a greater loft to weight ratio than 650+ fill power, and is used in our highest performance down products. We specify a 90/10 cluster to feather ratio for optimum loft and recovery.
650 Fill Power
Our 650+ fill power down is 15% loftier than the industry standard 550+ fill power down and exhibits excellent compressibility and recovery characteristics. We process it to an 85/15 cluster to feather ratio to emphasize maximum recovery from compression.
