Our 650+ fill power down is 15% loftier than the industry standard 550+ fill power down and exhibits excellent compressibility and recovery characteristics. We process it to an 85/15 cluster to feather ratio to emphasize maximum recovery from compression.

Our Verdict

In terms of insulative value 650+ Fill Power is obviously less than 800+, GoLite have used the 650+ in the Adventure Series to distinguish these bags from the ultralight Adrenaline Series. The Adventure bags are significantly more roomy and, with full length zips, are also more flexible than their counterparts.

What you get is a down bag at a good weight and packsize but at a reasonable price with only a few grams penalty. So if you want the lightest then go for the Adrenaline, if you want the comfort then go for the Adventure Series.

The Adrenaline series are designed to be as light as possible - so they have short central zips and have a narrow cut and use 800+ Fill Power down. The Adventure series are slightly heavier but have full length zips (useful to ventilate) and are wider around the chest - thus making them more roomy than the Adrenaline bags. The Male and Female versions also zip together to make a double.

We use premium Eastern European sourced 800+ and 650+ fill power goose down in different products depending on the design and end-use. Down is still the most thermally efficient insulation available, providing more warmth for its weight than any other insulation available. Down is also superior in its drape, comfort, lifespan, and compressibility. All of our down is renewably managed using a hypoallergenic processing technique. 800 Fill Power 800+ fill power down is more compressible and provides a greater loft to weight ratio than 650+ fill power, and is used in our highest performance down products. We specify a 90/10 cluster to feather ratio for optimum loft and recovery. 650 Fill Power Our 650+ fill power down is 15% loftier than the industry standard 550+ fill power down and exhibits excellent compressibility and recovery characteristics. We process it to an 85/15 cluster to feather ratio to emphasize maximum recovery from compression.
