The Plasma jacket is a light weight, waterproof down jacket. The outer is made from highly breathable and fully waterproof eVent fabric.
The baffles are welded to the shell fabric, thus eliminating sewn seams and any need for taping. The hood – which is removable - has a wired visor, but is not sized to fit over a helmet. All the zips are the new and fully waterproof Riri Aquazip.

Our Verdict
Crux have pioneered the use of an eVent shell with down insulation and this mix is only just being picked up by other brands. The result is an awesome jacket that is both a mid-layer and a shell, in a single lightweight package, packing an eVent shell and a separate down jacket would weigh 50% more than the Plasma, not to mention the cost.
There are some downsides, its not really suitable for warm wet weather - too hot, its purely a winter jacket - but a superb one.
