This 2.4m aluminium alloy probe has Dyneema cord linking the sections and breaks down to six 40cm sections for ease of packing. It is supplied with a storage bag.
The debris from an avalanche begins to set like cement as soon as it stops moving making rescue increasingly difficult. Research suggests that there is a 90% chance of survival if a person is rescued within 15 minutes of being avalanched. After an hour the survival rate can be as low as only 25%. You owe it to your companions to go out prepared.
